About XYVIUS

Well, let’s start by saying that Xyvius is or was a cat.  He was one of two cats I had in Canada before coming to Taiwan.  He was a big black and white, full-bodied cat.  I use his name as my name, because I like the idea of using ‘uncommon’ letters in the English alphabet.

I’m really just a regular guy, teaching English in Taiwan.  I like to talk, I like to write, and I hope that by reading my blog, you get a better understanding of who I am, and my experiences in a foreign country, or rather, a foreigner in Taiwan.

I like to talk about my cats.  I have 6… 3 boys, 3 girls.  They are my babies.  I like to talk about some of the antics that goes in my classrooms and with students.  I like to talk about the general craziness of life – here or anywhere.  As much as we are all different, we are all alike – believe it, or not.

Please feel free to leave comments.  Generally, my own PERSONAL RULE, is that I will not respond to YOUR comment.  Your comment is your say.  The blog, is MY say.  I say what I want, and you can either agree, disagree, or be neutral.  And, I will never disapprove your comments, unless you are personally attacking me.  Attack the writing, that’s fine.  Attack the subject matter, that’s fine.

I will never use the proper names of places, so as to protect the innocent, especially when I have something negative to say.  If it is good, I will always give credit where credit is due.

Otherwise, sit back, enjoy the writing.  I’m not a professional writer by any stretch of the imagination.  Well, maybe in MY imagination, but in reality, no.  These blog entries are simply a way for me to vent, to clear the air, to say what I want, when I what, about what I want, and no one, NO ONE, can tell me to be quiet, or turn their back.  You don’t like what the article is about, hey, choose another…  Or, surf somewhere else.  I’m not forcing anyone to read these entries.

  1. hey, what do you know about this site (http://wazup.asia/)? they seem to be a spam site and there’s no way to contact them. i noticed you were on their member list, and thought if they were legit, you’d be able to tell me, since you don’t look like a spambot! i really like your idea of blogs for junior high english classes…

feel free to delete this after you’ve responded.
